My Story
Hi and welcome to Scents of Serendipity! All of my candles are made with all natural soy wax, all natural wax coated cotton wicks, and high quality fragrance oils and/or therapeutic grade essential oils. Giving you a healthier, cleaner candle experience.
Anyone who knows me well, knows of my love for candles. I have always loved burning a wonderfully scented candle to create a more relaxed and pleasant environment. After my son was born I started researching and burning soy candles, as it was brought to my attention that they were less toxic than paraffin wax candles. While I was in the throes of his first year, I wanted to figure out a way to work from home. I started looking into many different things but nothing seemed like it was “for me”. I kept thinking that it would be so cool to make my own candles and start my own business. Now, my dream has come true.

Candle Burning Safety Tips:
Place candle on a safe, heat resistant, sturdy surface out of reach of children and pets.
Remove any objects or debris that are near the candle to prevent things falling/blowing into the flame.
Trim wick to 1/4 an inch before lighting your candle.
It is suggested to not burn your candle for longer than 4 hours at a time.
Never move a candle while hot or burning, and blow out the candle if the jar becomes excessively hot.
Stop using your candle when there is about half an inch of wax left in the bottom of the jar.
Never leave a lit candle unattended, and keep it away from drafts.
Candle Burning Best Practices:
Burn for at least 2 hours when you light your candle for the first time.
Because of the “memory” of soy wax, every time you burn your candle you want to have the top completely melted so your candle doesn’t tunnel (wax remaining along the sides of the container).
Trim the wick to a 1/4th of an inch before every burn. This keeps the flame from being too big/hot.
Soy wax candles are temperature sensitive. Do not leave your candle in extreme temperatures for too long. Someone should be present to receive the delivery. (During the fall/winter months, it is possible for some candles to develop “frosting”, a light, flaky appearance. Some candles may also develop clear “wet spots” due to the colder temperatures during shipping. These are normal, common traits of soy wax, and will not affect the burn or scent throw of your candle.)

Soy wax burns completely, cleanly, and 25-50% longer than paraffin wax.

What is your return policy?
Return Policy: Scents of Serendipity does not accept returns/provide refunds due to the nature of the products sold. If there is a problem with your order please contact me, and I will work diligently to try to resolve the issue and/or find a solution.
What is your damaged in shipping policy?
Damaged In Shipping Policy: Scents of Serendipity aims to have zero damaged shipments, however, breakage does happen from time to time due to the nature of shipping glass products. In the rare event that an item breaks during shipping, please follow these steps. Take a picture of your broken item(s) inside the box with packaging, and a picture of the shipping label on the outside of the box. Send me your pictures along with the name of which of your items that were damaged, and I will send a replacement to you ASAP. PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN OPENING YOUR PACKAGE. A BROKEN GLASS CANDLE IS SHARP AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
